Kia ora Koutou Katoa !!!!!!!

Last week in Te Reo Pākehā we got told that were going to the movies to watch the movie bookoworm. And befor we then to the movies we had to write what we think the movie would be about befor watching it. So rhis is what I think is gonna happen in the movie. I hope you like it!!!.

Mildred is a super clever 11-year-old from New Zealand. She’s an only-kid raised by her mum and loves diving into books to escape her everyday life. Her big dream is to find the Canterbury Panther, a legendary creature hardly ever seen by humans, and win a big old cash prize. But when her mum gets hurt and needs time in the hospital, Mildred’s Dad, who she’s never really known, comes to take care of her. He’s a magician from America who’s seen better days. Mildred and her Dad decide to go camping together to look for the mysterious panther while her mum gets better..

They went off, in the dangerous New Zealand wilderness. At first Mildred was excited to look for the Canterbury Panther, but Dad on the other hand just wanted to spend time with his daughter. One night when Dad and Mildred were sleeping they heard something in the distance. Mildred and Dad quickly started packing up all of their things and just ran like their life depended on it. After a little bit they stopped to see if that thing was following them. When they thought it was safe they set up camp once more.

After the really weird night Dad and Mildred had, they continued their adventure by climbing up a really steep mountain. At first Mildred loved it because all she wanted to do was find the Canterbury Panther, but Dad on the other hand did not. One, because he is so not fit and two, because he only came to bond with Mildred.

Once they climbed up the really steep mountain Dad was shocked, because of how beautiful the view was. In all the time he has been around, he had never seen something this beautiful. “What a view,” Dad said. “Let’s keep going,” Mildred said to Dad. After a few hours of walking Mildred spotted what looked like the Canterbury Panther. “Look Dad, the Canterbury Panther” said Mildred to Dad. “No, that’s just a goat”, said Dad to Mildred. Mildred was shocked, that’s when she realized that this is going to be a lot harder than she thinks. 

By the second day, Dad and Mildred ran into someone going hunting. The hunter’s name was John. John said that he’s just going hunting to feed his family. Dad loved the way John was so nice to them, but Mildred thought something was weird about this guy. After they talked to John he invited them into his house for some tea. Mildred wasn’t buying it, so she grabbed Dad and left. Dad was used to being in the city, with all the cars and noise, him being out here where it’s so quiet was really getting to him. After the sun went down, Dad and Mildred set up camp near a river they had found. That night a big storm came.
